A leader in the Point of Sale equipment industry is currently seeking the expertise of a Manufacturing Technician to join their Adelaide based team. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will be responsible for solving electro-mechanical problems in the manufacturing environment. The role will include: Diagnose and record issues with POS terminals and printed circuit board assemblies, personally repair and or instruct others on what repairs need to be performed on the assemblies Responsible for root cause failure analysis, testing and processing of all Non-Conforming hardware Interacts with suppliers to execute return of defective materials Assist Servicing as required to facilitate product repair efforts. Oversee the organisation, cleaning & maintenance of equipment Read schematics, wire lists and/or diagrams to determine proper sequence to build and assemble electro-mechanical assemblies or sub-assemblies. Perform routine tasks such as wire stripping, cutting, bending, brazing or soldering as instructed. Test or verify assembly through the use of gauges and other equipment. Focus on specialized tasks or assignments within manufacturing. Interact with other departments outside of manufacturing. Other job related duties as assigned. Skills required: Formal requirements: minimum of a Diploma in Electronics Engineering 3-5 years experience in a electro-mechanical technical role Experience in embedded microcontroller PCB assembly design / repair environment Advanced soldering skills, operation of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc..) Starting on Night shift on your first week, then finishing early on your last day shift ensures you're home before the end of a usual day shift. Site facilities include a gymnasium, tennis court, recreation room with internet terminals and walking paths.

What skills and experience do you need?
To be successful for this position you will need to be a hands-on, proactive individual with significant experience carrying out workshop and underground repairs / maintenance on a range of mining industry related Light Vehicles. Experience with the maintenance and repair of Diesel 4x4 vehicles, in particular Common Rail engines is essential. Additional experience in heavy earthmoving equipment and/or a qualification in Diesel Fitting will be an advantage.
As well as maintaining responsibility for ensuring that company policies and procedures are adhered to, the successful candidate will also possess:
• A Relevant Australian Recognised Trade Qualification
• Experience working on Diesel 4x4 vehicles
• Knowledge of other Underground Mining Mobile Plant will be highly regarded
• Neat and organised approach to work procedures
• Excellent fault finding and problem solving skills
• Willingness to assist with a variety of work tasks
• The ability to identify and address hazards in the workplace
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and unsupervised
