As the National Transport Manager you will be responsible for the finished goods relocation and delivery to non-local customers within Australia to meet Sales demand, at the lowest cost to the business. You will also be expected to oversee the Strategic Sourcing of freight services and its integration into the operation to ensure Customer and Production Planning requirements are met. Duties will also include continuous improvement of transport equipment standards to improve the quality of the “pack” upon delivery at favourable overall cost to the business whilst managing Regional Freight suppliers and national freight P&L. Contracts Manager – Rail In your position as contracts manager you will be in charge of a large scale of Rollingstock contracts. Provide direction and instruction to the supplier and the existing maintenance operations group on matters of conflict relating to resource on behalf of the Director Rolling Stock. Provide advice to management, staff and the contractor on all aspects of the maintenance contract. Ensure that all the support obligations are delivered for the maintenance and supply contracts and in keeping with organisation overall maintenance obligations to the State. Develop and maintain appropriate contract administration systems for all contracts being implemented within Rollingstock. You will be responsible for reviewing and administering the Rollingstock maintenance contract during the various stages of the procurement process. You will also ensure that all scheduled maintenance for the Rollingstock fleet is completed in accordance with the Supplier’s requirements and within specified maintenance intervals. This will require you to manage the transfer of maintenance data between the organisation and the Supplier and ensure that system interfaces are operating as required. Skills and Experience: · Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline and/or proven commercial contract experience. A sound, practical knowledge of rolling stock maintenance is preferable. Previous negotiating experience with a large supplier. Change management experience. Strong commercial acumen and past experience in the day to day management of complex maintenance contracts is preferable. Resource management skills – both labour and facility. Ability to liaise across multi disciplines, especially operations and infrastructure. Experience in the management of maintenance management systems.
