We are actively seeking Senior Geotechnical Engineers too form part of the Technical Services team, responsible in providing geotechnical services to the project team and taking responsibility for the sites geotechnical monitoring systems and standards.
As Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will be required to maintain the geotechnical management systems on site. You will provide design and deliver geotechnical hazard management plans, roadway support plans and support installation methodologies for development and longwall mining activities.
Responsibilities:
· Geotechnical design and analysis.
· Prepare operating plans, budgets and capital expenditure proposals.
· Ensuring workplace training is developed and delivered.
· Focus on minimising the impacts of mining on the environment.
· Manage your own projects on a day to day basis.
· Leadership of project teams on various assignments.
As the successful candidate you will demonstrate relevant experience:
· +5 years Underground hard rock environment.
· +5 years practical experience as a Senior/Lead Rock Mechanic in a mining or civil engineering capacity.
· Relevant tertiary degree qualifications in engineering geology, geomechanics or geotechnical engineering.
· Strong understanding of industry standard geotechnical software – (FLAC 3D, Datamine, Map3D)
· High level understanding in mining methodologies, improvement processes and contract management.
· Well developed communication, presentation and time management skills.
This role is ideally suited to individuals who have a high level exposure in Rock Mechanics/Engineering along with coal or heavy metals in either an underground or open cut operation.

Glendell Mine is an open cut operation located approximately 20km north of the township of Singleton in the Hunter Valley. The site produces approximately 4.6mt of saleable coal annually, utilising the latest Caterpillar and Hitachi mining equipment.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for preparing safe and efficient maintenance plans for a modern mining fleet in order to achieve availability and reliability targets. In addition you will be required to maintain service records & component history, look for and implement improvement opportunities, control costs in accordance with operational and capital budgets and actively participate in HSEC activities.
You will possess a Trade or Engineering Qualification, have a good working knowledge of modern mining equipment (Caterpillar experience desirable), have experience in Maintenance Planning Processes, have good computer literacy in MS Excel, Word and Project and be familiar with Maintenance Budgeting processes.
