Job Description
Our client is seeking someone with experience in safety management in the petroleum industry. This position involves problem solving, leadership and understanding of health and environmental outcomes. You will be involved in the whole safety process from risk identification and problem solving, through building business partnerships for promoting necessary change, to assessing the outcome of implemented programs/solutions.
Working for our client, you will lead "on the ground" implementation of safety practice and processes, to identify and address risks and OHS legislative compliance requirements. You will accomplish safety outcomes by leading, directing and influencing site-based business leaders and staff on the application of safety risk management processes.
Main duties include:
Assist in the development and implementation and validation of barrier effectiveness to meet objectives
Monitor safety performance across the geographic area and support where required
Participate in audits / self assessment programs and provide inputs to management review / business assurance letter
Monitor safety performance at locations and support / intervene where required
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Significant experience in risk management, incident investigation and root cause analysis
Experience (5 years or more) in the petrochemical industry, in a technical discipline such as engineering or OHS with good operational experience
Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated track record of building effective business partnerships
ALARP determination skills
Contractor HSE Management experience
Detailed knowledge and application of OHS legislation, reporting and understanding of the regulatory environment. In particular, understanding is required of the MHF legislation.
Demonstrated strong communication, as well as influencing and interpersonal skills.
